METALLICA Rumored To Be Headlining 'Massive' New UK Rock Festival

December 12, 2008

According to The Welwyn & Hatfield Times, METALLICA is rumored to be headlining massive new rock festival at Knebworth, United Kingdom in July.

The event, if confirmed, would provide competition to the Download festival, which takes place June 12-14 at Donington.

Knebworth's managing director, Martha Lytton Cobbold, did not rule out the possibility of the event going ahead.

"We would entertain holding a festival here," she said.

The Welwyn & Hatfield Times also asked if METALLICA would be made welcome, to which she replied "sure." She added: "They are very popular throughout Europe."
